Come With Me: ‘Memories of Christmas Past’
Get a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and come along with me as
I think back on Christmas memories. I will post two “memories” a
week on Facebook through Christmas.. and I hope these will bring
back memories for you too.
Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year.
This was the Manger scene we had back in the 1950’s.
We kids always loved it when Mom put it out; and I still
put it out every year. Christmas is a celebration. And,
Jesus’ birth is the real reason for the Christmas season.
If you lived in snow country, you did a lot of this.
Loved making snow angels. How about you?
I think our Mother must have made at least 10
kinds of cookies and fudge. She was an awesome
cook and baker. I still make ‘her fudge’ and cookies
in her memory.
Photo-taking was so important and fun. Now we all
look back at the old ‘black and white’s, as well as the newer type.
Don’t like the photo you just took with your iPhone?
(Love that delete button).
Family fun… and our family was full of laughter and craziness.
I am so thankful for parents who raised us to laugh and tease.
I’m, sure you’ve heard this before:
“Families are a lot like fudge. Mostly sweet with a few nuts.”
May you and your family have a joyous Christmas!
Thanks for coming along with me down memory Lane.
Need some more hot chocolate? Don’t forget the marshmallows.
Our snowmen never looked this good, but we sure had fun making
them. A carrot was the nose, but can’t recall what we used for
the eyes and mouth. I think we threw more snow at each other
than we did in making the snowman. How many snowballs have you thrown?
Thank you for coming along on my memory tour…. I hope it
stimulated past Christmas memories for you too. Until next year…
‘God bless us every one.’
